Ketan Agarwal, a Pune real estate executive, was killed by fiancée Siya Goyal during a Lohagad Fort trek Nearly a month after Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal’s alleged murder at Maharashtra’s Lohagad fort, which had left the nation shocked, his mother, Rakhi Agarwal, wrote an emotional letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking justice for her son and urging that those responsible for his murder be given the strictest punishment under the law. Ketan was allegedly pushed off a cliff at Lohagad Fort in Pune district on June 18 by Siya Goyal (20) and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary (22). The couple was scheduled to marry in November. Both accused have been arrested and remanded in police custody till July 16. Here’s What Ketan’s Mother Said In Her Letter To PM Addressing the Prime Minister, Rakhi wrote that she never imagined she would have to seek justice for her own child.
“Like every mother, I dreamt of watching Ketan build a beautiful life, get married, and grow old with us. Instead, I had to perform the last rites of my child," the mother said. Describing the loss, she wrote, “My son was brutally murdered, and with him, my entire world is gone. Every corner of our home reminds me of him. His room, his clothes, his photographs, and the silence that has replaced his laughter remind me every day that he will never come back." The grieving mother also revealed that the tragedy claimed another member of the family. He loved Ketan dearly and could not bear the grief of losing his grandson. Within days, our family lost two generations," she wrote. Appealing directly to the Prime Minister, Rakhi said she was not seeking sympathy but justice. “Modi Ji, I am not asking for sympathy or any special favour. I am only asking for justice," she said. “Every day without justice deepens our pain. Ketan cannot return, but those responsible for taking his life must receive the strictest punishment under the law," she said.
With folded hands, she urged the Prime Minister to ensure that the case receives the attention it deserves and that justice is delivered without delay. The letter comes as the family continues its fight for justice in the Ketan Agrawal murder case. Earlier, Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, had also written to President Droupadi Murmu via email, seeking justice for his son. Inside The Ketan Agarwal Murder Case On June 18, 26-year-old Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal died after falling into a nearly 400-foot gorge at Lohagad Fort during an outing with his fiancée, Siya Goyal, in Maharashtra’s Pune district. The death was initially believed to be an accident, but investigators later alleged it was a premeditated murder. The two have been booked for murder and criminal conspiracy. Investigators have said the couple allegedly planned the killing because Goyal did not want to go ahead with her scheduled marriage to Agarwal. The investigation later uncovered digital evidence, CCTV footage, phone records and witness statements that police say point to a carefully planned conspiracy.
