Karnataka has approved a Rs 1,010-crore scheme to establish 10,000 Bharat Jodo Yuva Sanghas across the state, aiming to promote sports, cultural activities, scientific temper, leadership, and communal harmony among young people. According to a government order issued on July 13, 2026, the scheme provides an annual grant of Rs 10 lakh for each youth club, taking the total allocation for the clubs to Rs 1,000 crore.

Read Full Story Under the programme, one Bharat Jodo Yuva Sangha will be established in every Gram Panchayat. In urban areas, youth clubs will be created based on population norms, ranging from one club for every 4,000 to 10,000 residents.
Municipal corporations and the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) will finance the scheme from their respective budgets. The initiative will be implemented by the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports in coordination with the departments of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Urban Development, Revenue, and Education. Each youth club will also receive funding to pay an annual honorarium of Rs 24,000 to one trainer.
The government said the scheme will be implemented in accordance with official guidelines, and any future changes will require the approval of the Minister for Youth Empowerment and Sports. Ends
