In an exclusive interview, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu addressed the controversy surrounding the movie Satluj and its portrayal of Punjab's history. He challenged the film's claim of 25,000 missing bodies, asking, "Where did the 25,000 number come from?" Bittu pointed out historical inaccuracies in the timeline of his grandfather, former Chief Minister Beant Singh's assassination, and the abduction of Jaswant Singh Khalra. He stated that the movie depicts Beant Singh discussing Khalra in October, despite Beant Singh being assassinated in August.
Bittu also criticized actor Diljit Dosanjh, accusing him of glorifying terrorists in his previous film Chamkila. He claimed Dosanjh released Satluj to appease Khalistani elements abroad after facing backlash for touching Amitabh Bachchan's feet at a concert, where Dosanjh allegedly told his security to "throw them out" referring to individuals with Khalistani flags. Bittu appealed to the Akal Takht Jathedar to pray for all victims of terrorism in Punjab, including police officers, Hindus, and Sikhs, emphasizing the need to prevent the resurgence of violence.
