Eightyeight-year-old Mary Varghese, wife of Kannada film producer late V. Varghese, breathed her last at a private hospital in Kalaburagi on Monday after a prolonged illness. She is survived by her son Santosh Varghese, who is an entrepreneur and proprietor of Darsh Hospital, and four daughters.
Her late husband, V. Varghese, was a Kannada film producer known for launching several devotional films. He also operated Mukta and Santosh cinemas in Kalaburagi. Originally from Kerala, the Varghese family has been settled in Kalaburagi for nearly seven decades.
According to family members, the mortal remains will be taken to St. Mary’s Church at 10 a.m. on Tuesday for funeral prayers. The burial will
take place at the Christian cemetery near Venkatesh Nagar in the city at 12.30 p.m.
