According to the police, the victim had gone to his uncle’s house for summer vacation. The accused policeman — who was acquainted with the minor’s uncle — reached his residence on Wednesday night. The two reportedly consumed alcohol, and the victim’s relative drifted off.
Afterwards, the policeman went to the boy’s room and sexually assaulted him. The boy managed to escape and rushed to the Ashok Nagar police station. He filed a formal complaint with the police, and subsequently, the accused was apprehended. A further probe into the matter remains underway. ‘Stop Poaching MLAs, Focus On Police’ After the incident surfaced, opposition leaders — DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin and AIADMK Chief Edappadi K Palaniswami — came down heavily upon the Tamil Nadu government led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay. In a post on ‘X’, Stalin wrote, “The law-and-order situation has become so precarious that even policemen can’t be trusted for safety. The TVK government should stop poaching MLAs and focus on using police effectively".
