BRS left unpaid bills of ₹40,000 crore in R&B dept., says Komatireddy

The previous BRS government had left unpaid bills of nearly ₹40,000 crore relating to works undertaken by the Panchayat Raj, Transport and Roads & Buildings departments, besides burdening the State with debt exceeding ₹8 lakh crore, alleged R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy. The Minister further said that the Congress was bound to comeback in the next elections winning 117 seats despite the BRS party’s only aim to poison people’s minds through a sustained social media campaign with ill-gotten money.
Criticising the BRS, the Minister said the Congress believed in delivering work rather than publicity, while accusing the BRS government of focusing more on publicity than governance. He was speaking after laying foundation stone for road works worth ₹531 crore under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) in Makthal Assembly constituency, along with Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Vakiti Srihari. The Minister said the Makthal–Narayanpet road project had been sanctioned following repeated requests from Minister Vakiti Srihari and he was well aware of the poor condition of roads in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district and accused the previous BRS government of neglecting road infrastructure for a decade.
The Minister said the Makthal–Narayanpet road would be completed within 12 to 16 months, reducing travel time between the two towns to about 20 minutes. He appealed to landowners to cooperate in the land acquisition process, assuring them that the government would provide fair compensation. He also appealed to Congress workers to work collectively to see Rahul Gandhi become the country’s Prime Minister, while recalling that he entered Telangana during Bhart Jodo Yatra at Makthal.
Mr Srihari said that despite 10 Collectors and several MLAs changing, the road from Makthal to Narayanpet remained a dream. He thanked Mr. Komatireddy for the initiative. Jupally Krishna Rao explained the welfare activities of the Congress government.
