The Testing Agency (NTA) has informed the Supreme Court that it remains fully committed to maintaining the integrity, transparency, fairness and credibility of all examinations conducted under its supervision, including NEET. In its affidavit, the agency said it has been working in coordination with the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to strengthen examination systems and address concerns related to paper leaks and malpractice. The agency said these reforms are aimed at improving examination security and reducing vulnerabilities across the testing process. It also referred to a high-level meeting held on April 17, where an elaborate set of pre-examination, during-examination and post-examination measures were suggested to improve the system. According to the affidavit, several of these recommendations are either already implemented or in the advanced stages of execution under the oversight of the Higher Public Service Commission (HPSC).

This includes tighter controls before exams, monitoring during examinations and stricter evaluation and post-result procedures. Officials said these steps are part of a broader effort to ensure that large national-level exams like NEET remain fair and credible for lakhs of students appearing every year. CONTINUED OVERSIGHT The NTA further said that it is continuously reviewing its systems and updating protocols in line with expert recommendations.
