A man in Odisha’s Bolangir district died after allegedly being struck on the head with a mobile phone by his wife during a domestic dispute, police said.
According to preliminary information, an argument broke out between the couple at their residence on Saturday. During the altercation, the wife allegedly hit her husband on the head with a mobile phone, leaving him seriously injured. Family members rushed the injured man to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Bolangir, where he underwent treatment. Doctors later discharged him after observing an improvement in his condition. However, shortly after returning home, his health reportedly deteriorated suddenly. He was rushed back to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Despite efforts by doctors to save him, the man succumbed and was declared dead. The police is trying to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the death. Authorities are also awaiting the post-mortem report, which is expected to determine whether the head injury directly contributed to the man’s death. Police said further legal action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation and the post-mortem examination.
