The hearing had earlier been adjourned from July 10 to July 13 due to the judge's absence. Khan Sir has denied the allegations against him. Immediately after the incident, Khan Sir had alleged that people linked to a rival coaching institute were behind the attack on KGS. Members of that rival institute later accused him of having arranged the episode himself. According to sources, the two guards detained in connection with the firing told police during interrogation that they had opened fire on the instructions of Khan Sir.
They alleged that the order to fire was given after an incident of physical assault outside the coaching centre, when the situation worsened and a crowd had gathered. The two guards have been identified as Pradeep Kumar, 38, and Talebar Singh, 34. Both are from Uttar Pradesh and were hired through a Noida-based security agency. During questioning, the guards told police that they had fired two rounds each from their licensed.315-bore rifles after being told to do so. They also stated that Khan Sir was present at the spot at the time of the incident.
The matter remains under investigation, with police examining the June 2 vandalism and stone-pelting case, the alleged firing by the guards, and the competing claims made by Khan Sir and members of the rival coaching institute. Ends Inputs from Sujeet Kumar
