The blaze broke out at around 11.57 pm local time at Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao, a live music pub in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district. Firefighters brought the fire under control in about half an hour, but by then the venue had been engulfed in thick smoke, trapping patrons inside. Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who visited the scene, confirmed that authorities had recovered 27 bodies.
