Actor and television host Mandira Bedi has broken silence on turning to therapy after the death of her husband, filmmaker Raj Kaushal, saying professional counselling played a key role in helping her cope with one of the toughest phases of her life. Speaking at the trailer launch of her upcoming film Max, Min and Meowzaki, Mandira revealed that seeking therapy is not something she started after her personal loss. She shared that she has been consulting therapists and counsellors for nearly two decades whenever she felt emotionally overwhelmed or out of balance.

Mandira Bedi Opens Up On Therapy Recalling how her family initially reacted, Mandira said, “Therapy, counselling and trying to understand myself better have been important parts of my life. I first went to therapy about 20 years ago. When I told my mother that I had attended a therapy session, she asked, ‘Why? What happened to you?’ I told her that I needed to get out what was going on in my mind. My mother then said, ‘You could have talked to me.’ But I replied, ‘No.’" The actor became emotional while speaking about losing husband Raj Kaushal in 2021 and explained why she chose to continue taking professional help. She said, “Whenever I felt something was wrong or unbalanced in my life, I sought the help of a therapist and counselor.

It always benefited me a lot. When I lost my husband, therapy became a source of healing for me, which is why I resorted to it." Mandira Bedi And Raj Kaushal Mandira Bedi married filmmaker Raj Kaushal in 1999. The couple later welcomed their son, Veer, and expanded their family by adopting their daughter, Tara, in 2020. Raj Kaushal died of a heart attack in June 2021 at the age of 50. About Max, Min And Meowzaki Mandira Bedi will next be seen in Max, Min and Meowzaki, directed by Narasimha Murthy. The trailer follows Max and Min, a young couple whose relationship falls apart during a difficult period in Max’s life. As he struggles to move on after the heartbreak, he finds comfort in a pet cat named Meowzaki.

Apart from Mandira Bedi, the film stars Medha Shankar, Siddharth Menon, Adil Hussain and Nafisa Ali in pivotal roles. Max, Min and Meowzaki will release in theatres on July 24, 2026.
