Mob Rampage In Delhi's Mayur Vihar Over Eve-Teasing Objection; Nearly 15 Injured, 10-Year-Old In ICU Published By, Last Updated: July 13, 2026, 10:20 IST A 10-year-old boy is in the ICU and 10-15 people were injured after a mob allegedly attacked residents in Delhi's Mayur Vihar Phase-3. Police have launched a probe. Police investigate after a mob allegedly attacked residents inside a housing society in Delhi's Mayur Vihar Phase-3, leaving several people injured, including a 10-year-old boy who remains in the ICU. A 10-year-old boy is undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after a group of alleged miscreants stormed a residential society in east Delhi’s Mayur Vihar Phase-3 and assaulted residents on Sunday evening. Around 10 to 15 people were injured in the violence, which, according to residents, was triggered after some people objected to the alleged eve-teasing of a young woman. According to an NDTV report, eyewitnesses said a group of around 10 to 15 men entered the housing society and created panic by attacking residents.
Locals alleged that the confrontation began when some residents intervened after a young woman was allegedly molested. Residents claimed that after being challenged, one of the accused allegedly returned with several associates, following which the group launched an attack inside the society. Eyewitnesses alleged that the attackers assaulted several people they came across, leading to chaos and injuries. Among those injured was a 10-year-old boy, who remains admitted to the ICU in critical condition. Residents were quoted as saying that nearly 10 to 15 people sustained injuries in the incident, while four to five of them are believed to be seriously hurt. The boy’s sister said her younger brother had accompanied their cousin, who is around 27-28 years old, to take photographs when they were caught in the violence. Describing the alleged attackers, she claimed they were carrying stones as well as wooden sticks. “One of them had a large stone in his hand. He was also carrying a wooden stick.
It was quite broad and even had nails in it," she alleged. She further claimed that her family saw only three people carrying out the assault. The boy’s sister also alleged that one of the accused is a resident of the Gharoili area in Mayur Vihar Phase-3. According to her, photographs of the suspect have already been handed over to the police. AAP MLA QUESTIONS LAW AND ORDER Local AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar also reacted to the incident, questioning the law-and-order situation in the national capital. Kumar alleged that the violence took place despite a police outpost being located only about 500 metres from the residential society. The legislator said he visited the area on Sunday night and met residents, who expressed concern and anger over the incident. He further alleged that criminals were operating without fear despite Delhi having a “four-engine government" and urged Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to ensure that those responsible are arrested without delay.
