The actress took to her Instagram Stories on Sunday to shut down viral claims, including an AI-altered clip, claiming she had personally asked Samay for a spot on his show, India’s Got Latent. Addressing meme accounts directly, Kusha Kapila wrote, “Kitni seeding karogey, meme accounts? Ruk jao." She went on to ask, “Will I have to reveal the jokes at this point to justify my anger?" before adding that she has stopped attending parties altogether: “Maine kisi party mein hee nahi jaana ab." Samay Raina-Kusha Kapila Pretty Good Roast Show Controversy The fallout between Kusha and Samay dates back to December 2024, when Samay graced as a panelist on Pretty Good Roast Show, hosted by stand-up comedian Ashish Solanki.
What started as wordplay on Kusha’s name, “Kusha Ka Peela," escalated fast. Samay went on to call her a “gold digger" and made a joke about her pet dog that referenced Kusha Kapila’s divorce from Zorawar Ahluwalia The jokes drew massive backlash once the episode aired publicly. Kusha said she hadn’t seen a script beforehand and called joining the roast a “rookie mistake" since she had trusted the comedians involved as friends. She described the experience as “shockingly unkind" and “dehumanising" at the time. Kusha Kapila On The Jokes Samay Raina Cracked On Her In her latest story, Kusha shared what she called the “facts" point by point. She confirmed she and Samay “were friends," and that there was “no script shared, no contract signed, and no jokes shared beforehand" during the infamous roast. Everything, she said, was done in good faith, and she “had no idea what was coming." Kusha also stood by her stance that the jokes made at her expense were “horrible".
She wrote, “The jokes made at my expense were horrible, and I stand by my stance that they should have been censored. I blocked both Samay and Ashish. It has taken me a lot of time and therapy to undo the shame and ridicule I felt that day. I genuinely wish that roast had never happened to me."
