At least 27 people were killed in a fire at a bar in the Thai capital, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul told local media. A major fire inisde a bar in Thailand's capital Bangkok early on Monday morning left at least 27 people dead.
Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control after a half hour, officials said. "Twenty-seven bodies were moved out, lifeless bodies. Some were sent to hospitals, we are checking their conditions," Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said in televised remarks from the scene of the blaze.
According to Thai public broadcaster Thai PBS World, the fire broke out in the packed beer house in the Ladprao area of Chatuchak district just around midnight, with many dead and several others reported injured.
