दतिया उपचुनाव अब बेहद रोचक हो गया है। बीजेपी ने केंद्रीय मंत्री ज्योतिरादित्य सिंधिया को मुख्य चुनाव प्रभारी बनाकर मुकाबले को प्रतिष्ठा की लड़ाई बना दिया है, जबकि कांग्रेस ने दतिया राजघराने के घनश्याम सिंह को मैदान में उतारा है। ऐसे में चुनाव अब दो राजघरानों की सीधी टक्कर और सिंधिया की साख की परीक्षा माना जा रहा है।ग्वालियर-चंबल अंचल में मजबूत राजनीतिक पकड़ रखने वाले ज्योतिरादित्य सिंधिया के लिए यह चुनाव साख का सवाल बन गया है। साल 2023 के मुख्य चुनाव में कांग्रेस के राजेंद्र भारती ने नरोत्तम मिश्रा को हराकर यह सीट भाजपा से छीन ली थी (राजेंद्र भारती की सदस्यता रद्द होने के बाद यह उपचुनाव हो रहा है)।
ऐसे में भाजपा इस सीट पर कोई जोखिम नहीं लेना चाहती। सिंधिया अब दतिया में बूथ प्रबंधन, चुनावी रणनीति और सघन जनसंपर्क की कमान संभालेंगे। 2020 में कांग्रेस छोड़ भाजपा में आए सिंधिया के लिए कांग्रेस के गढ़ में कमल खिलाना प्रतिष्ठा की लड़ाई है। The Datia by-election has now become extremely interesting.
