The AgriGold Customers and Agents Welfare Association on Sunday (July 12, 2026) urged the State government to expedite compensation for thousands of AgriGold depositors. They called for the proposed special court to be operational before the end of July, the establishment of a dedicated CID investigation team, and the attachment of all alleged benami properties belonging to the company’s management. Addressing a press conference in Vijayawada, association honorary president and CPI national executive member Muppalla Nageswara Rao and deputy general secretary B.V. Chandrasekhar welcomed the government’s decision to constitute a Cabinet subcommittee and a special court to resolve the long-pending AgriGold issue.
Nageswara Rao said the move fulfilled an assurance given by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during a hunger strike held in March and welcomed the government’s commitment to settle depositors’ claims within six months. The association appealed to AgriGold management to withdraw pending litigation, surrender all properties held in the names of family members and benamis, and cooperate with the government. It also urged the government to auction attached properties transparently, suggesting that large land parcels be divided into smaller plots and that residential lands be developed into layouts to maximise returns.
The association asked purchasers of AgriGold plots before 2015 to submit sale deeds, Aadhaar details, and contact information to district offices by July 25, while investors holding CR slips, bonds and receipts were requested to submit
documents to the CID within 30 days. Chandrasekhar said the association would submit detailed recommendations to the Cabinet subcommittee, including obtaining the company’s customer database and constituting mandal-level committees to verify claims and resolve documentation issues quickly.
