The search and rescue operations at the Kalladi tunnel project site in Kerala's Wayanad have concluded. The body of the last missing person, identified as Bikram Singh Rana, a construction manager with Dilip Buildcon, was recovered during the sixth day of consecutive search operations. Initially moved to the mortuary at Vythiri Taluk Government Hospital, the body was later transferred to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for embalming following a post-mortem examination.
With this recovery, the death toll from the Kalladi landslide has reached eight. Authorities noted that while survivors were rescued during the first three days, only dead bodies were retrieved after 72 hours.
