Fifteen Indian nationals died after a boat carrying 32 Indians capsized 400 meters off the shore in Vietnam. Preliminary reports cite rough seas as the cause of the accident. The Indian Embassy in Hanoi and the Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City are coordinating with Vietnamese authorities to repatriate the mortal remains to India.
Rescue operations saved nearly 15 Indian nationals, with one currently undergoing critical treatment in Phu Quoc. Most of the victims hail from southern India. Authorities are investigating the safety measures and the decision to allow the boat ride despite rough sea conditions.
