A tragic boat accident off Vietnam's Phu Quoc Island has claimed the lives of 15 Indian tourists, leaving families across India in mourning. The tourist vessel, carrying 36 people, including 32 Indian tourists, capsized while travelling from Hon May Rut Island to An Thoi Port after encountering rough sea conditions and high waves. Among the victims are 10 from Tamil Nadu, 3 from Andhra Pradesh, and 2 from Kerala.
One Indian tourist remains in critical condition and is receiving medical treatment in Vietnam. The Indian Embassy in Vietnam has established emergency response centres in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to assist affected families. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his condolences and assured all possible assistance. State governments are coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs and Vietnamese authorities to ensure the safe return of the victims and support for their families.
