The controversy surrounding the movie 'Satluj' has escalated as Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu challenged the filmmakers over historical claims. Bittu demanded documentary evidence for the film's claim of 25,000 missing bodies in Punjab, warning of legal action. He questioned the omission of Hindu victims, terror victims, and police sacrifices, stating, 'Creative freedom can't distort history'.
Calling it a propaganda film, he added, 'If claim is proved, I will apologize publicly, else you will have to.' The film, removed from ZEE5 in India two days after its release, continues to stream globally. Bittu, whose grandfather was assassinated during the militancy period, insisted that the filmmakers present official records or issue a public apology.
