(X) Karnataka Transport Minister Byrathi Suresh carried out surprise inspections on BMTC buses across Bengaluru late into the night on Saturday to check the quality of public transport services. Wearing a mask to avoid being recognised, the Minister travelled like an ordinary passenger for nearly two hours, from 7.10 pm to 9.10 pm. He boarded more than 10 BMTC buses, bought tickets, and spoke to commuters to understand the problems they face while travelling.

The Minister also experienced a common problem faced by commuters. On a bus travelling between Hebbal and Nagashettyhalli, the conductor reportedly asked him to get off after he handed over a ₹100 note, saying there was no change.
