The accused, identified as Vijay Mallikarjun Kamath, was taken into custody after the woman filed a complaint at Marathahalli Police Station, accusing him of sexual harassment. The incident came to light after the woman shared a video on social media and detailed her ordeal, alleging that the delivery agent entered her flat despite her repeatedly refusing to let him in. ‘I Politely Refused Multiple Times’ According to the woman, the delivery agent had arrived at her home to deliver a parcel and asked if he could use her toilet.
She refused and told him that she did not allow strangers inside her flat. “I politely refused multiple times and clearly told him that I do not allow strangers inside my flat. I even suggested that he ask the male neighbours next door since it was an emergency. Despite my repeated refusals, he removed his slippers and forcefully entered my home without my permission," she wrote in her post. The woman alleged that after using the washroom, the delivery agent came out and exposed himself to her. “When he came out of the washroom, he exposed his private parts to me. I felt shocked, violated, humiliated, and completely unsafe in my own home. A woman said, ‘NO!’ That should have been the end of the conversation. No one has the right to ignore her boundaries or force their way into her home," she said. ‘I Was Terrified’: Woman Recalls Ordeal The woman said she feared for her safety and kept her phone camera switched on during the incident.
She also left the main door open and stood near the entrance so she could escape and seek help if necessary. “I was terrified. Fearing for my safety, I kept my phone camera on, left my main door open, and stood near the entrance because I was afraid that if anything happened, I could run outside for help. Every day we hear about rape crimes against women," she wrote. She said the incident left her shocked, traumatised and feeling unsafe in her own home. Police Arrest Delivery Agent, Investigation Underway After the woman’s social media post brought the incident to public attention, Bengaluru Police took note of the allegations and sought further details from her. She later filed a formal complaint at Marathahalli Police Station. Based on her complaint, police registered a case under Sections 75, 79 and 329(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused has since been arrested and legal action has been initiated against him.
