According to police, an inquiry revealed that Mohammed Ayub Khan, a resident of Bagepalli who was working in the United Arab Emirates, had married Farah Naz, a Pakistani national, in the UAE. The couple has four children, including Mohammed Fardeen, who was born in Pakistan.
Police said Farah Naz and Mohammed Fardeen are Pakistani nationals, while Ayub Khan and the couple's other three children are Indian nationals. The family is currently residing in Bagepalli. Following the police inquiry, authorities examined the records and cancelled the ration card after finding that it was allegedly obtained by suppressing material information related to nationality, the SP said. The voter identity card issued to the accused was also cancelled by the competent authority.
The action was initiated after a complaint was filed by Bagepalli Tahsildar. Based on the complaint, a case was registered against Farah Naz and Mohammed Fardeen under applicable sections of the BNS, the Foreigners Act and the Representation of the People Act. "Both accused have been arrested, and further investigation is in progress," SP Chouksey said. Ends
