(You can now subscribe to our (You can now subscribe to our Economic Times WhatsApp channel Weather Forecast Today: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted an active monsoon day across several parts of the country on Saturday, July 12, with heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning likely over many northern, eastern and northeastern states.While states such as Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Assam remain under heavy rainfall warnings, Delhi is not under any rainfall alert. The national capital is expected to witness mostly cloudy skies with temperatures rising slightly.Delhi is expected to remain rain-free, with the IMD issuing no rainfall alert for the national capital."Mostly cloudy skies are expected to persist for the next few days," said an IMD official.According to the weather department, the maximum temperature is likely to remain between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may settle between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius.Fairly widespread rainfall is likely across Jammu and Kashmir, with isolated heavy rainfall expected in some areas.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph (gusting up to 60 kmph) may also occur.Himachal Pradesh is likely to witness widespread rainfall, with isolated heavy showers expected across several districts. The active monsoon spell is expected to continue through the coming days.Heavy rainfall is likely over Uttarakhand on Saturday. The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms and lightning, and residents in vulnerable areas have been advised to remain alert due to the possibility of localized flooding and landslides.Punjab is expected to receive isolated heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in some places.Several parts of Haryana are likely to witness rain, with isolated heavy showers expected during the day.East Uttar Pradesh is likely to receive heavy rainfall, while western parts of the state may witness isolated to scattered showers.Both East and West Rajasthan are expected to receive isolated rainfall, with thunderstorms possible in some districts.East Madhya Pradesh is likely to experience scattered rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds. West Madhya Pradesh may receive light to moderate rain in isolated places.Scattered rainfall is likely across Chhattisgarh, with isolated heavy rainfall expected in some districts under the influence of the active southwest monsoon.Bihar is expected to receive widespread rainfall, with very heavy rainfall likely in isolated areas. Residents have been advised to stay cautious in low-lying regions.Heavy rainfall is likely over several districts of Jharkhand.
