At least 15 Indian tourists died after a boat carrying 36 people capsized off Vietnam's southern island of Phú Quốc. The vessel, traveling from Hòn Mê island to An Thới Port, overturned about 400 meters into the sea due to rough conditions and large waves. The passengers included 32 Indian tourists, with casualties reported from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala.
The Indian embassy in Vietnam has established emergency response centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. The Prime Minister expressed condolences and assured all possible assistance. State governments are closely monitoring the developments and coordinating with the Indian Embassy to ensure necessary assistance for the affected families.
