A political controversy has erupted in Jammu and Kashmir after the Chief Minister alleged that a rival political party attempted to lure ruling party legislators
A political controversy has erupted in Jammu and Kashmir after the Chief Minister alleged that a rival political party attempted to lure ruling party legislators to bring down the government. During a recent rally in Srinagar, the Chief Minister claimed that a rival party leader and a Supreme Court advocate approached a ruling party legislator with an offer of twenty to thirty crore rupees, a ministerial berth, and the restoration of statehood in exchange for switching sides.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the rival party would not succeed in poaching legislators even with offers of hundred crore rupees. In response, the opposition party completely rejected the allegations, terming them misleading and baseless. The opposition asserted that the central government has consistently supported the current administration through financial assistance and accused the Chief Minister of attempting to distract the public from real issues.
The opposition party is now demanding concrete proof to back these serious poaching allegations, stating that the Chief Minister must furnish evidence or issue a public apology.
