A political storm has erupted in Jammu and Kashmir after the Chief Minister alleged that the BJP attempted to poach a Conference MLA. Addressing a convention in Srinagar, the Chief Minister claimed a BJP leader offered the legislator up to 30 crore rupees, a ministerial berth, and the restoration of statehood to switch sides.
He asserted that the poaching attempts failed as the legislators remained loyal. In response, the BJP rejected the bribery allegations, terming them baseless. A national spokesperson for the party challenged the Chief Minister to provide evidence and reveal the identities of the individuals involved, or issue a public apology for spreading misinformation to hide governance failures.
