Faridabad Garbage Dump Sparks Health Crisis As Civic Apathy Angers Charmwood Residents
Residents of Charmwood Society in Surajkund, Faridabad, are facing severe health and environmental hazards due to an open garbage dump operated by the Municipal Corporation
Residents of Charmwood Society in Surajkund, Faridabad, are facing severe health and environmental hazards due to an open garbage dump operated by the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad. The dumping site, located in close proximity to the residential area, emits a foul smell and raises concerns about respiratory diseases and groundwater contamination. Residents report that contractors dump municipal waste, including bio-waste, which is left to rot for days.
Additionally, uncovered construction materials like sand and cement are dumped across the road, causing severe dust pollution. Despite multiple complaints to the civic authorities and the Chief Minister's window, no permanent action has been taken. The residents highlight that the area is a designated forest green belt, which is only cleaned during the Surajkund Mela or other festivities. The continuous dumping of waste and construction debris poses a significant health risk to the thousands of residents, including senior citizens and children, living in the multi-crore society.
