Rapid Read News18 A 19-year-old nursing student was allegedly stabbed to death inside her rented accommodation in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, shocking incident that has left the local community shaken. The victim, identified as Khushi Sahu, was a resident of Kumhi village in Bemetara district. She had shifted to Bhilai around 15 to 20 days ago to pursue a nursing course at a private college while simultaneously working at Friends Cafe in Vaishali Nagar to support her education.

Khushi had rented a room in the Ramnagar area. About five days before the incident, one of her friends from the same village had also arrived in Bhilai and started sharing the accommodation with her. According to the police, Khushi was alone in the room when the attack took place, as her roommate had stepped out to use the bathroom. During that brief period, an unidentified man allegedly entered the room and attacked her with a sharp weapon before fleeing the scene. Investigators said Khushi sustained more than 10 stab wounds on her stomach, back, and hands. The attack came to light when her roommate returned and found her lying in a pool of blood.

She immediately informed the house owner, who then alerted the police. Khushi was rushed to Supela Hospital in a critical condition, but doctors declared her dead on arrival. Following the incident, police officials and a crime branch team reached the spot and began an investigation. A murder case has been registered against the unidentified accused, and efforts are underway to trace the suspect. Police are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas and questioning several people as part of the investigation to establish the sequence of events and identify the attacker. The motive behind the murder is yet to be determined.
