Rescue operations at the Kalladi landslide site in Wayanad have entered their fifth day, with the death toll rising to seven after the recovery of another body. One person remains missing as search efforts continue. The landslide, which occurred on July 7, was reportedly caused by accumulated soil at the Wayanad Tunnel and Township project sites.
In response, the Kerala government has constituted two committees. A three-member expert panel will oversee the safe removal of debris, while a second committee will investigate the causes of the landslide and determine if the construction company violated any agreement norms. Authorities have assured that rescue operations will not conclude until the missing individual is found.
