NIMS hosts six sigma, pharmacovigilance training programmes

A training programme on six sigma was conducted at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad on Saturday, for Master of Hospital Management (MHM) students and Resident Medical Officers (RMOs). The programme was organised by the NIMS Administration Department and coordinated by Six Sigma Training Coordinator Dr. Martha Ramesh.
NIMS Director Rahul Devaraj said the Six Sigma methodology plays a key role in improving quality standards in hospital administration. He urged students and medical officers to gain a thorough understanding of modern management practices to enhance the delivery of quality healthcare services. He added that such training programmes would help strengthen the skills of future hospital administrators and medical officers.
Additionally, the department of clinical pharmacology organised a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme on “Current Trends in Pharmacovigilance: Artificial Intelligence, Real-World Data, and Regulatory Updates". R. Chandrashekhar, Joint Drugs Controller at the Central Drugs
Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), delivered a keynote address on the latest national and global regulatory developments in pharmacovigilance and stressed the need for close collaboration among regulatory authorities, healthcare professionals, academia, and the pharmaceutical industry.
