(Image: US Dept of War) As researchers continue to explore the possibility of extraterrestrial life, the Pentagon has released a new batch of UFO files. The files released on Friday consist of 14 documents, 19 videos, four audio files and three images that were sourced from several US agencies, including the Pentagon, NASA, CIA, FBI and Energy Department. The fourth batch of “declassified and historical Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) files" also includes a report from a military aviator who described a mysterious object as “unlike anything I had seen" in 28 years of service. The Department of War posted the latest files on its UFO website, which hosts material released under an executive order President Trump signed earlier this year. What’s In The Latest UFO Files? The disclosure mirrors previous releases, featuring a mix of largely unredacted historical documents and videos alongside files detailing more recent incidents. One of the most notable documents, released by the Energy Department, describes an intrusion by an unidentified object into the airspace above the Pantex nuclear weapons facility near Amarillo, Texas, in September 2015.
The report recounts how two officers pursued the object as the facility was placed under lockdown. “Although they were unable to catch up to the object, they stopped their vehicle and got out. Once outside, they noted that the object did not make any sound. Furthermore, the [officers] stated that they were unable to identify any type of propulsion system on the object while using binoculars to assess the object," CBS News reported, citing a report. “After viewing it for 1-2 minutes, the object then continued north offsite," the report mentioned. Roughly half of the released files date back to 2010 or later and include infrared footage captured by military cameras. The grainy videos depict unexplained objects and encounters from various parts of the world, including the western Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean and the Middle East. Among the incidents documented is an encounter over the Atlantic in 2020. The release includes footage of an object that “was a darker, maroonish color, approximately 12-15ft in height," according to a heavily redacted report filed by a Navy crew member. “Structurally, it appeared as a large, somewhat deformed balloon, but we were unable to verify that as we passed at the merge," the weapons systems officer wrote, followed by two redacted lines.
