The crackdown on the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang has intensified overseas, with one alleged associate arrested in France and another ordered to be deported from Canada, days after the US Department of Justice (DOJ) filed an indictment against Bishnoi and another Indian gangster. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said on Friday that alleged gang associate Garinder Dev had been arrested in France. He will now face extradition proceedings to Canada. Read Full Story According to the US DOJ indictment, 40-year-old Garinder Dev, also known by the aliases 'Doctor', 'Rocket' and 'Ritz Carlton', allegedly helped generate financial gains for the criminal network linked to Lawrence Bishnoi.
The indictment alleged that Dev played a role in a conspiracy to procure large quantities of cocaine and heroin and transport them from Southern California to the eastern United States. In June 2025, authorities intercepted and seized a shipment containing approximately 99.2 kilograms of cocaine and one kilogram of heroin before it could reach its destination. In a separate development, Canada's Immigration and Refugee Board has ordered the deportation of Jashandeep Singh, an alleged member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Canadian authorities allege that Jashandeep Singh helped conceal the weapon used in the firing outside comedian Kapil Sharma's cafe in Surrey.
However, no formal criminal charges have been filed against him in connection with the case. Jashandeep Singh arrived in Canada on a student visa in 2022 and has denied all allegations against him. Earlier, another alleged Lawrence Bishnoi gang associate, Arshdeep Singh, had also been deported from Canada.
