Missing Hyderabad Couple (Credits: X) A Hyderabad businessman and his wife have gone missing nearly three weeks after leaving for a holiday in Switzerland, prompting police to investigate their whereabouts as well as allegations that the couple had raised around Rs 50 crore from dozens of investors. The couple, identified as 51-year-old businessman Pabba Chandrasekhar and his 42-year-old wife Swapna, left for Switzerland on June 22, according to their daughter Shreya.
They stayed in contact with their family during the initial part of the trip but suddenly stopped communicating after July 8. Family members repeatedly tried to contact them, but their mobile phones were either switched off or outside the network coverage area. Daughter Approaches Police After Parents Lose Contact As days passed without any word from her parents, the couple’s 23-year-old daughter, a software professional, approached the police. A missing persons case was subsequently registered and an investigation launched. Police are now checking the couple’s travel plans, immigration details and financial transactions to establish where they may be. Investigators are also trying to confirm whether the couple actually entered Switzerland as claimed. Police Examine Rs 50 Crore Investment Allegations The investigation has also widened to include claims that Chandrasekhar and his wife had collected nearly Rs 50 crore from more than 60 people over the past few years.
According to the allegations, the money was raised by promising attractive returns and citing various personal and business requirements. However, police have not announced any formal cheating charges against the couple so far. Officials said the missing persons case remains under investigation and that several possibilities are being examined, including whether the couple disappeared voluntarily and whether financial fraud was involved. Police have also asked anyone with information about the couple’s movements or whereabouts to come forward.
