Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday (July 11, 2026) in Ayodhya alleged that the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress disrespected the Hindu faith, alleging they had earlier allowed namaz to be offered at the Hanumangarhi temple in Ayodhya and demanded that they apologise for the sin. “These people had Namaz offered at Hanumangarhi, but can the SP, Congress, or any other government have the Hanuman Chalisa recited at Jama Masjid? If they cannot, then why did they commit the sin of having Namaz offered on the steps of Hanumangarhi? Those pretending to have faith committed this sin, whereas the BJP established Ayodhya as the cultural capital of Sanatan Dharma,” said Mr. Adityanath, while inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for 217 development projects worth more than ₹432 crore in Bikapur Assembly constituency under Ayodhya district.

It was Mr. Adityanath’s first visit to Ayodhya since the donation embezzlement episode. Adityanath alleged Ayodhya remained neglected and deprived of development due to the lack of roads, electricity, and water, adding that under previous governments, inadequate arrangements prevented devotees from receiving the blessings of Maa Saryu. But now the sacred stream of Maa Saryu is blessing Ayodhya. “If the intentions are sincere and the policy is transparent, even divine support is granted. With the blessings of Lord Ram and Pawanputra Hanuman, all endeavours progress effortlessly. The citizens of Bikapur have elected a commendable MLA, and the signs of development are unmistakable. Just as Ayodhya’s splendour has reached its zenith nationally, development initiatives are equally evident in Bikapur. When dedicated public representatives engage in developmental activities, the outcomes are as favourable as those currently observed in Ayodhya, Bikapur, Milkipur, Gosainganj, and Rudauli.

Ayodhya has now attained prosperity and stands unmatched across the three realms. Its streets are illuminated and vibrant. In accordance with Prime Minister Modi’s vision, Ayodhya, the capital of the Suryavansh, has transformed into a Solar City. A continuous stretch of ghats now exists from Naya Ghat to Guptar Ghat,” he said. Hitting out at the SP, the CM said, “These people used to mislead the public in the name of an airport, but now Ayodhya has an international airport named after Maharshi Valmiki. Ayodhya is now connected with cities across the country. Since the SP and Congress could achieve nothing, they are opposing Ayodhya. The double-engine government social harmony by building a night shelter in the name of Nishadraj and a dining facility in the name of Maa Shabari.
