A fast-moving wildfire near Los Gallardos in Spain's southern Almeria province has killed at least 11 people, making it one of the country's deadliest fires on record, as authorities battle soaring temperatures and an ongoing heatwave. Andalusia's regional emergencies minister Antonio Sanz said several victims were found in burnt-out vehicles, apparently having died while trying to flee the flames, with four believed to be British nationals based on a right-hand-drive car found at the scene; most or all of the dead are believed to be foreign nationals, though formal identification is still underway.
