Visvesvaraya Technological University has set a new benchmark by announcing final semester engineering examination results just 10 minutes after the exams concluded. The results were jointly released by Vice-Chancellor Prof S Vidyashankar and Registrar (Evaluation) Prof UJ Ujwal. A total of 56,192 students appeared for the BE and BTech final semester examinations conducted by the university. The exams ended at 5:30 pm on Friday, and the results were declared at 5:40 pm. Read Full Story According to university officials, the entire evaluation process was completed eight days earlier than in previous years, making it the fastest result declaration in the institution’s history.
FROM DAYS TO MINUTES The university had earlier reduced result declaration timelines steadily over the years. In May 2025, results for the 2021 batch involving 50,321 students were announced within one hour after the examinations ended. In May 2024, results for the 2020 batch of 37,011 students were declared within three hours. In 2023, results for the 2019 batch involving 43,662 students were announced two days after the examinations. This year’s result declaration, however, broke all previous records as students received their scores almost immediately after completing the examination. TECH DRIVES THE SPEED Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof S Vidyashankar said the university has consistently focused on technology-driven processes and student-friendly systems.
He described the quick declaration of results as proof of the institution’s commitment towards students. He also said announcing results within 10 minutes of the exam ending was a major achievement and credited administrative staff, the examination section and affiliated colleges for their coordination. The Vice-Chancellor added that final-year students often wait anxiously for results because of placement opportunities and higher education admissions. Keeping this in mind, the university ensured that the evaluation process was completed without delay. RESULTS ON MOBILE PHONES TOO Registrar (Evaluation) Professor UJ Ujwal said the university adopted digital evaluation of answer scripts and prepared well in advance for faster declaration of results.
“We adopted digital evaluation of answer scripts and prepared in advance to announce results quickly. With everyone’s cooperation, this was possible,” he said. The university also introduced direct result delivery through mobile phones this year, allowing students to access their scores instantly.
