The Lucknow Development Authority has issued a notice to demolish the building in Aliganj, Lucknow, where a coaching institute fire killed 15 people on June 22. The authority granted permission to demolish the structure because the owners failed to show cause against the order. The Lucknow Development Authority found many lapses in the building, noting that it was not constructed according to the approved map.
The owners have been given 15 days to demolish the building themselves, failing which the authority will bulldoze the structure. An SIT investigation is currently ongoing in the case.
