The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is progressing steadily across Chittoor district, with nearly 80% of voter enumeration forms already digitised, District Collector and District Election Officer Sumit Kumar said on Friday (July 10, 2026). Addressing a press conference here, after inspecting the SIR drive at various municipal divisions, the Collector stated that the district administration took all necessary measures to complete the digitisation process by July 14.
The Collector said Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) played a crucial role in the ongoing revision exercise, while weekly review meetings were being conducted with representatives of recognised political parties to ensure transparency and resolve concerns. According to the official data, enumeration forms have been distributed to 13,39,675 of the district’s 13,40,126 electors, recording 99.97% coverage. So far, 10,67,946 forms have been digitised, taking the district’s overall progress to 79.69%.
Nagari Assembly constituency has achieved the highest digitisation at 84.02%, followed by GD Nellore 81.37%, Palamaner 80.34%, Puthalapattu 79.72%, Chittoor 76.71%, and Kuppam 76.18%. “Officials have identified 19,701 deceased voters, 8,344 who have permanently moved elsewhere, 7,263 duplicate registrations in other constituencies, 789 absent voters, and 108 cases under other categories. Altogether, 36,205 electors, accounting for 2.70% of the electorate, have been classified as uncollectable, with the number likely to increase after final verification,” Mr. Sumit Kumar said.
The Collector said 1,511 BLOs were engaged in the SIR exercise. A total of 42,920 forms were digitised during the past 24 hours. The draft electoral roll will be published on July 21, while voters are encouraged to use the ECINET app and the “Book a Call with BLO” facility for enrolment, corrections, and other electoral services.
