Expired curd, unlabelled raw meat and seafood, unhygienic kitchens and rumali rotis being prepared adjacent to unclean washrooms with fly infestation were among the hygiene violations detected during inspections carried out by the food safety team of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) at multiple establishments across Hyderabad on Thursday (July 9, 2026). Chass prepared with expired curd At Rebel Food Private Limited in Kondapur, which operates cloud kitchens for brands including Behrouz, Faasos, Sweet Truth, Wendy’s and LunchBox, officials found five packets of curd that had expired on July 5 and six packets that had expired on July 8.. Officials observed that mint chaas was being prepared using the expired curd.
Inspection at Fire Water Neo Bar and Kitchen At Fire Water Neo Bar and Kitchen in the Financial District, several prepared food items were assigned a shelf life of two to five days without any laboratory evidence. Raw crabs, boneless chicken, prawns, chicken wings, baby corn packs and other food items were stored without labels and were discarded on the spot. Officials also found a pack of expired mushrooms. Water used for cooking and preparing crushed ice for beverages had not been tested. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items were stored together in the chiller, food items lacked labels indicating their contents, and eggs were stored without proper cleaning.
Rumali rotis preparation beside toilets At Al Saba Restaurant in Gachibowli, meat was not stored under proper conditions in the freezer. Water stagnation in the wash area, unhygienic worker washrooms and fly movement inside the premises was found. Rumali rotis were being prepared adjacent to toilets with fly infestation, while the slaughtering area was also found unhygienic, with no separate containers for leftover chicken. The restaurant had not adopted hot water sanitisation of utensils and failed to produce water testing reports. Inspection at Zepto warehouse in Narsingi At Zepto warehouse in Narsingi, inspection revealed racks, crates, flooring, walls and ceilings covered with visible dirt. Food bags were stored without pallets, food waste was found on racks, crates and the floor, and food and non-food items were not properly segregated.
The Pest-o-Flash unit in the fruits and vegetables section was improperly positioned, posing a potential contamination risk. At Burger King in Puppalaguda, oil leakage was observed from kitchen equipment and storage crates were not cleaned properly. Food testing reports and packaging records were not available. At KFC in Manikonda, officials found water stagnation and foul odour in the wash area. Four packs of cut lettuce that were no longer fresh were discarded on the spot.
