(IMAGE: PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing them of questioning the authenticity of Lord Ram and alleging that those now speaking about faith had attempted to offer namaz on the steps of Hanumangarhi in Ayodhya. Addressing a public gathering in Ayodhya, Adityanath said, “People who are now speaking about Lord Ram and faith had recently attempted to offer namaz on the steps of Hanumangarhi." Escalating his criticism, the chief minister said the opposition parties had consistently opposed Ayodhya’s development and even ridiculed projects that have now become a reality. Samajwadi Party leaders used to mock the idea. Today, Ayodhya has an international airport, but they are not happy with its name because it has been named after Maharishi Valmiki," he said.
‘Can Anyone Recite Hanuman Chalisa In Jama Masjid?’ Referring to an alleged incident of offering namaz at Hanumangarhi, Adityanath questioned why such an act was allowed and contrasted it with religious practices at other places of worship. “Just think—can anyone ever recite the Hanuman Chalisa inside the Jama Masjid? Can any government make that happen? Can the Congress or the Samajwadi Party make it happen? If they cannot, then why was this act allowed? Why was this act committed on the steps of Hanumangarhi in Ayodhya?" he said. The chief minister also credited the BJP with fulfilling the long-pending demand for a Ram temple in Ayodhya, while accusing the Congress and the SP of doubting Lord Ram’s existence. After the BJP government came to power, the Ram Mandir was built," Adityanath said. His remarks come amid a political row over donations linked to the Ram Temple, with the BJP and the opposition trading barbs over issues related to Ayodhya and the temple project.
