The forest fire, first declared in the municipality on July 8, has spread extensively. Fire service authorities are working round the clock on a war footing to bring people to safety, but containing the flames is increasingly difficult.
The ongoing intense heatwave and dry weather conditions in southern Spain have fuelled the inferno further.
