A US official, however, denied the claim. Meanwhile, Israeli officials told CNN that they were “not familiar with any Israeli involvement in strikes in Iran right now." Fresh Tumult In West Asia A fresh escalation in West Asia erupted even as the United States and Iran were engaged in peace negotiations to end the conflict. The tensions followed US strikes across multiple targets in Iran this week as the country’s forces claimed that the bombing was in retaliation for the Iranian attacks on three vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz.
