The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration has suspended the license of Mumbai's iconic K. Rustom and Company. The legendary Churchgate ice cream parlour was ordered to shut down after inspectors found live rats, house flies, and severe food safety violations, including the use of expired products. Meanwhile, amidst the relentless monsoon devastation in Maharashtra, a heartwarming rescue took place in Palghar.
With roads completely flooded and inaccessible for ambulances, local volunteers turned a wooden door into a makeshift stretcher to carry a pregnant woman through chest-deep waters, allowing her to safely deliver a baby boy. In another monsoon-related incident, heavy rainfall in Maharashtra's Raigad district caused around 3,000 HPCL cooking gas cylinders to be swept into the Patalganga river.
The local district administration has issued a strict advisory, appealing to citizens to stay away from these floating cylinders as they pose a significant safety risk.
