Mohana Kumar, who was previously the principal of DB College, Sasthamcotta, had also served as the vice-chairperson of SCOLE Kerala and secretary of the Higher Secondary Education Board. A native of Mynagappally in Kollam, he had also held prominent positions, including chairperson of the Board of Studies in Politics at Kerala University.
