In a recent interview, Ali Salehin discussed the implications of the United States launching strikes on over 90 targets in Iran, including air defences, command networks, and coastal radars. Salehin stated that the 'United States violated the MOU' regarding the management of passage through the Strait of Hormuz. He noted that these violations occurred recently, around the time of the Supreme Leader's funeral. According to Salehin, the deployment of significant military assets in a limited area creates a 'possibility to spillover the crisis'.
He also referenced past diplomatic failures, mentioning that former US President Donald Trump withdrew from the JCPOA and betrayed diplomacy, which led to military escalation. Addressing Iran's internal situation during a state of mourning, Salehin emphasised the country's historical resilience against various empires and threats. He observed a rally around the flag phenomenon among the Iranian people, stating that despite different political views, citizens form a 'unified battle line against them' when the nation is in danger.
