The system of free door delivery of e-Khata documents has achieved success in Bengaluru and it will soon be extended to the whole State, Chief Minister D.K. shivakumar said in Belagavi on Thursday. Speaking at the Belagavi division-level review meeting in Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, he also said he is issuing an order for a comprehensive audit of revenue lands across the State. "We should have accurate information about every inch of government land in the State,โ he said, adding that an ambitious project to provide housing sites to the landless will be launched soon.
"The government will not allow any attempts at unplanned urban expansion. We will ensure that the State government and local urban bodies will work in coordination with each other in ensuring scientific urban development,โ the Chief Minister said. Opposition not helping Speaking on Mahadayi, the Chief Minister said the BJP leaders from the State are not helping the government get approvals from the Union government. โI have personally approached Union Ministers five times with a request to approve the Mahadayi basin projects. They have not agreed to our requests.
Our friends in the BJP are not cooperating with us in this regard. But we are serious about the project. Once all approvals are received, we will start work,โ he said. The government, he said, will also complete the acquisition of additional land for the extension of the Upper Krishna project. โWe have increased the compensation amount. We will also challenge in the Supreme Court, High court judgments that have granted very high amount like โน10 crore per acre. We will take up the next stage of work in phases,โ he said.
SIR: Voter assistance centres at ward levels With many citizens confused about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, the government will set up voter assistance centres at ward levels to help them participate properly, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said. Shivakumar asked all officers on election duty to work without fear or favour and act as per rules in the Election commission of India. โYou should not bow to political pressure from anyone,โ he said.
