KHAMMAM Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday said the Chief Minister will release the final instalment of ₹1,009 crore under the Rythu Bharosa
KHAMMAM Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday said the Chief Minister will release the final instalment of ₹1,009 crore under the Rythu Bharosa scheme for the current kharif season at the Rythu Ashirvada Sabha to be held at Jagannadhapuram in Khammam district on Friday, July 10. The amount will be credited directly into the bank accounts of eligible farmers. With this, the total disbursement under the Rythu Bharosa scheme for the current season will reach ₹ 9,000 crore, he said, adding that a record ₹8,759 crore had already been released to farmers in just nine days.
Addressing the media at Lachagudem in Chintakani mandal on Thursday. Mr. Vikramarka accused the BRS of distorting facts and unleashing a misinformation campaign against the Congress government. Citing official figures, he said, “While the previous BRS government spent ₹ 72,000 crore under the investment support scheme in a span of nearly a decade, the Congress government has released ₹ 35,839 crore under the Rythu Bharosa scheme in just two-and-a-half years.” He said the government had spent a total of ₹ 1,67,877 crore on farmers during the same period through Rythu Bharosa, farm loan waiver, crop bonus, crop insurance, compensation for crop losses, agricultural power subsidy, farm mechanisation, Atmiya Bharosa, irrigation projects and other welfare programmes.
Vikramarka said Friday’s event was named “Rythu Ashirvada Sabha” at the request of farmers. He appealed to the farmers from across Khammam district and the State to participate in large
numbers and make the event a grand success. He said the event would reaffirm the government’s commitment to enhancing farmers’ incomes and strengthening agriculture, the backbone of the State’s economy.
