Sri Sathya Sai district is bracing for World Population Day on July 11 (Saturday) with awareness programmes across all Primary Health Centres (PHCs), the Collectorate, and the offices of the district Health department, as part of a Statewide campaign promoting family welfare and healthy birth spacing. District Collector A. Shyam Prasad on Thursday unveiled the campaign posters at the Collectorate and directed officials to ensure that awareness activities are conducted effectively throughout the district.
He instructed the Health department to widely propagate the campaign’s key messages, highlighting the importance of adequate spacing between children to ensure healthier mothers, healthier children, and happier families. The Collector further directed officials to organise awareness rallies in the jurisdiction of every PHC to educate people on family planning, maternal health and child welfare.
He said the campaign should reach every section of society through extensive public outreach and community participation. As part of the State government’s initiative, Medical and Health personnel demonstrating outstanding performance during the campaign will receive cadre-wise incentives and awards. The Collector urged healthcare workers to make full use of the opportunity to improve public health services and help Sri Sathya Sai district emerge as one of the leading performers in Andhra Pradesh.
District Medical and Health Officer Dr. Fairoza Begum and other senior health officials were present.
