MLA representing Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency in Mysuru G. T. Deve Gowda launched the works on construction of a 2.5 km-long road between Belavadi Industrial Area and Hebbal Industrial Area in Mysuru on Wednesday. The road project taken up at a cost of ₹5 crore starts from Automotive Axles in Belavadi Industrial Area and passes through Rane Madras and reaches Mysuru Export Centre on the Outer Ring Road in Hebbal Industrial Area. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Deve Gowda said that the construction of a quality road in the industrial area would not only improve transportation, but also promote industrial growth, attract fresh investment, generate employment and contribute to regional economic development.
He said industrial areas with robust infrastructure are more likely to attract new industries and investors, leading to increased direct and indirect employment opportunities. Improved connectivity with ports, airports, railway stations and national highways would also facilitate exports, he added. Deve Gowda said an efficient transport network was essential for industrial areas and that the road was being constructed in response to a long-pending demand of industrialists. Once completed, the road would enable faster movement of raw materials and finished products, reducing transportation costs, fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance expenses.
It would also minimise delays in the supply chain and ensure smoother production activities, he said. He observed that the improved road would help workers and employees reach their workplaces safely and on time. In addition, it would encourage the growth of ancillary commercial activities such as small-scale industries, hotels, warehouses and logistics services,
while enhancing the value of land and commercial properties in the industrial area. The others present on the occasion included General Secretary of Mysore Industries Association Suresh Kumar Jain, Commissioner of Hootagalli City Municipal Council Narasimha Murthy, Development Officer of Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) Madesh and President of Scheduled Tribe Industrial Association Manjunath.
